The Biden administration has completed a pilot project for issuing paperless visas, eliminating the need for physical visa stamps or pastes on passports. The United States recently conducted the small-scale program at its embassy in Dublin and plans to gradually implement it. This long-term project aims to eventually require an app or similar system for displaying visa status without physical documentation. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Visa Services, Julie Stufft, expressed excitement about the future widespread use of paperless visas, including for Indian nationals. The process still involves an interview and similar application forms, distinguishing it from India's e-visas.
